My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 9
Here’s how I’m setting up for Round 9 on Kickest, getting ready for the first midweek Serie A fixture of the season after a solid 8 round.
No time to finish, and it’s already time to start again. The last round didn’t go too badly, with Modric and Davis putting up great scores. But, as mentioned, there’s no time to waste — we need to focus right away on this midweek round, the first of the Serie A and Kickest season.
Time to arm myself again with the Fixture Ticker , and let’s pick the 5 transfers for Matchday 9 of Serie A and Kickest!
Out: Solet (Udinese), In: Ahanor (Atalanta)
Udinese’s defensive pillar has confirmed himself as a top-tier player, but now the Friulani face a run of four really tough matches — that’s why we’re replacing him.
Coming in is one of Atalanta’s brightest surprises so far this season: Honest Ahanor. Yes, the Bergamo side host Milan, but in a game between two teams very focused on defending, set pieces could make the difference, and the former Genoa man has shown he can be dangerous going forward too.
Out: Zalewski (Atalanta), In: Kone (Roma)
Still not at his best after injury, the Polish wing-back struggled again against Cremonese. With Milan coming up next, better to switch.
We’re going for another midfield top pick: Manu Kone. The Frenchman has quickly become a key piece in Gasperini’s system. He hasn’t found the net yet in a team that’s only scored 8 goals in 8 matches — and with strikers struggling so much, the midfield’s role becomes even more important.
Last season he showed great long-range shooting skills, and with Parma likely to sit very deep, one possible solution could be a strike from outside the box.
Out: Atta (Udinese), In: Carboni (Genoa)
Our favorite, who’s been with us for nearly the whole start of the season. Now, for the same reasons as Solet, we have to say goodbye to Arthur Atta — after his 27.60 FPT against Lecce — but it’s just a see you later.
In his place, we’re going for the gamble of the week: Valentin Carboni.
He hasn’t started in the last six games, still on 0 goals and 0 assists in the league. So, why pick him? Genoa can’t seem to shake off their offensive flatness, and yet another defeat — this time away to Torino — might finally push for some tactical and mental changes.
Plus, as our Fixture Ticker suggests, Genoa are entering a slightly “softer” run of fixtures. Vieira might finally decide to inject some creativity and unpredictability by starting the Argentine from the first minute. We’re hoping so.
Out: Berardi (Sassuolo), In: Castro (Bologna)
Unfortunately, Mimmo hasn’t made much of an impact lately, with a Sassuolo side that’s been very inconsistent overall.
The Neroverdi aren’t scoring much and have now lost their captain to injury. So, we say goodbye to Berardi and welcome Santiago Castro. Until yesterday he had just one goal this season but plenty of strong performances — and then at the Franchi, he scored one of the most beautiful goals of his time with Bologna.
Bologna face only one “big” club in their next five games, so El Toto could be a great pick.
Out: Davis (Udinese), In: Zaccagni (Lazio)
“In, smash, out, bye.” Four words to describe Keinan Davis’s impact on our team.
We picked him betting on a return to scoring form against Lecce, and it paid off. But now, given Udinese’s tough schedule, it’s time to move on.
Our transfers this week give us a nice budget boost, which lets us strengthen our attack — alongside Castro, we can now bring in another top name: Mattia Zaccagni. Lazio’s captain hasn’t scored in four matches and still hasn’t provided an assist, but he remains the key man for the Biancocelesti. Against Pisa, he might finally make an impact again.
