My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 36

Let’s break down the five most interesting picks for the next Serie A and Kickest weekend.

Scott McTominay

With three matches left in the season, we already have the first verdicts of the league: Inter are Serie A champions, while Verona and Pisa have been relegated. The final relegation spot is still to be decided, with Lecce and Cremonese battling to avoid the drop, while the race for the Champions League has been dramatically reopened thanks to slip-ups from Milan and Juventus, the draw between Como and Napoli, and Roma’s victory.

I’m once again arming myself with the Fixture Ticker to pick the 5 transfers to make for this 36th Serie A and Kickest matchday!

Out: Dumfries (Inter), In: Wesley (Roma)

After his injury, Denzel Dumfries came back as if he had never been away, showing just how much Inter suffered without him on the right flank. After securing the Scudetto, and with the Coppa Italia final against Lazio still ahead, he could be rested this round. Replacing him is Roma’s Wesley, who is arguably the Giallorossi’s MVP (alongside Malen since January). Whether on the right or left, it makes no difference — his performances, including assists and goals, have been outstanding.

Out: Gabriel (Lecce), In: Marianucci (Torino)

The second defender to say goodbye to is Tiago Gabriel. Facing Juventus, who are fighting for a Champions League spot, could make for a very difficult day for Lecce’s defense. We also want to save a few credits at this stage, so we’re going with a low-cost option who has still been performing very well, especially since D’Aversa arrived: Luca Marianucci.

Out: Taylor (Lazio), In: Thorstvedt (Sassuolo)

Inter are already champions of Italy, but they certainly won’t travel to Rome for what previews the Coppa Italia final with a friendly attitude. For this reason, we’re choosing to move on from Kenneth Taylor. In his place comes one of the biggest surprises of the season: Kristian Thorstvedt. The Sassuolo midfielder is coming off a superb performance against Milan, but in truth he has been delivering impressive displays all season long.

Out: De Bruyne (Napoli), In: McTominay (Napoli)

A swap between Napoli midfielders: out goes De Bruyne because, despite flashes of quality, the Belgian still seems somewhat disconnected from Conte’s system. In comes McTominay because there’s probably no need to explain why: dominant.

Out: Mendy (Cagliari), In: Diao (Como)

Lastly, we say goodbye to last week’s unsuccessful gamble, while wishing him all the best for his career: Paul Mendy. Replacing him is another outstanding young talent who, after several injuries, has now become an undisputed starter in Fabregas’ Como side: Assane Diao. Against an already relegated Verona side, he could even get on the scoresheet.
