My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 35
Let’s break down the five most interesting picks for the next Serie A and Kickest weekend.
We’re in the final stretch of Serie A and Kickest! With just four matchdays left, the league is heading towards its conclusion, with the Champions League race still wide open and the third relegated team to be decided in a head-to-head battle down to the wire between Cremonese and Lecce.
I’m back with the Fixture Ticker, and let’s pick the 5 transfers for this 35th matchday of Serie A and Kickest!
Out: De Gea (Fiorentina), In: Falcone (Lecce)
Our changes start with one of the two teams involved in the relegation battle. Wladimiro Falcone has confirmed himself this season as an excellent goalkeeper, and against Pisa, whose attacking struggles we know well, he could deliver a high score and gives us an option in T1. Making way for him is David De Gea, coming off a clean sheet against Sassuolo, but against a Roma side fighting for Champions League qualification it’s better not to take risks.
Out: Dodô (Fiorentina), In: Kalulu (Juventus)
The same reasoning applies to Dodô. In general, Fiorentina, after securing safety, have shown a bit of looseness even against Sassuolo, so we decide to drop the Brazilian to make room for Pierre Kalulu. The former Milan player has become a key pillar in Spalletti’s team; whether as full-back or centre-back makes little difference: 15.15 average FPT overall, 17.2 in the last 5 matches. A certainty.
Out: Strefezza (Parma), In: Ekkelenkamp (Udinese)
The match at San Siro against Inter, who could clinch their 21st Scudetto with a win, leads us to drop Gabriel Strefezza, who is nevertheless in decent form. In his place comes Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, one of the season’s real breakout players for Udinese. In the last 5 games he has recorded 2 goals and 2 assists, translating into a 20.54 average FPT.
Out: Esposito (Inter), In: Simeone (Torino)
We also say goodbye to Pio Esposito, who has disappointed our expectations in recent weeks, and against Parma we could see Lautaro Martínez back in the starting XI. We welcome back Giovanni Simeone, whom we dropped last week only temporarily, as our Fixture Ticker suggests a, at least on paper, favourable end to the season. The Cholito’s form looks truly “on fire” and we try to take advantage of it for the final sprint.
Out: Sarr (Verona), In: Mendy (Cagliari)
The final move of the day, as often happens, is reserved for possible punts and/or surprises. We drop last week’s failed gamble, Amine Sarr, to welcome Cagliari’s new talent: Paul Mendy. Under Pisacane, the Rossoblù are investing heavily in young players from their academy or beyond, such as Palestra, Rodriguez, Ze Pedro, Sulemana and others. The brace against Atalanta was a perfect debut for the 2007-born player—will he repeat it against a tired and demoralised Bologna side?
