My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 32
Let’s break down the five most interesting picks for the next Serie A and Kickest weekend.
After the Easter weekend, Serie A returns immediately, already on Friday evening with the Roma–Pisa opener, which will kick off the 32nd round of the league. Let’s get ready for another crucial turning point of the season, perhaps truly decisive in reopening or closing the title race, but especially for the Champions League battle, with Como, Juventus and Roma separated by just 4 points. After the Ulisses Garcia wildcard, recommended and on target in matchday 31, we’ll try to pick another one this week.
I’m picking up the Fixture Ticker again and selecting the 5 changes to make for this 32nd Serie A matchday and Kickest!
Out Kempf (Como), in Pavlovic (Milan)
Como–Inter will be one of the most important matches of this 32nd round, with the title and Champions League races intertwined, hopefully producing a tense but also entertaining game between two of the most proactive teams in Serie A. With Thu-La coming off the back of their strong performance against Roma, we decide to drop Marc-Oliver Kempf and bring in Strahinja Pavlovic. The Milan defender is enjoying his best season and has been one of the Rossoneri’s top performers this year. Playing as a left-sided center-back, Allegri gives him plenty of freedom in attack, often encouraging him to push forward even without the ball.
Out Maldini (Lazio), in Vlasic (Torino)
After a good start to his Lazio spell, Daniel Maldini seems to have slowed down. As a forward he has scored only one goal since arriving, which is too little to keep trusting him in a tricky match like the one against Fiorentina. On the other hand, Nikola Vlasic is having an excellent season. Despite Torino’s inconsistent results, the Croatian — now also captain — is taking responsibility for the team. Not so much from a statistical point of view (3 goals and 3 assists in the league), but in terms of temperament and leadership within a squad that has looked fragile at times.
Out McKennie (Juventus), in Bernardeschi (Bologna)
Weston McKennie’s suspension forces us to find alternatives for this Kickest round. We’ll try to rely on Federico Bernardeschi, who is having a good season with Bologna, also thanks to his versatility (often used as an attacking midfielder) and the difficulties that have affected Orsolini over the last three months. He is not guaranteed to start, considering the Europa League effort where he played from the first minute, but he could still make an impact against Lecce even coming off the bench.
Out Zalewski (Atalanta), in Malinovskyi (Genoa)
The match against Juventus will be very delicate and complicated. We debated for a long time whether to drop Nicola Zalewski, but also considering the competition with Raspadori, we decided to replace him with Ruslan Malinovskyi. The Ukrainian midfielder is increasingly becoming one of Genoa’s key players, and our Fixture Ticker suggests a couple of “approachable” matches for De Rossi’s team, where he could make an impact.
Out Yildiz (Juventus), in Alisson Santos (Napoli)
We come to the most difficult decision. In attack we had to drop one among Malen against Pisa, Simeone against Verona, and Kenan Yildiz, involved in one of the big matches of the round against Atalanta. Both the difficulty of the match and a challenging schedule over the next three games led us to drop the Turkish player. We give up one playmaker and “sign” another. Alisson Santos is the most pleasant — and in some ways unexpected — surprise of Napoli’s second half of the season. The Brazilian has become an additional weapon, bringing speed and dribbling, two factors that can shift the balance in Serie A and decide matches, even when coming off the bench.
