My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 21
After a long break due to the Christmas holidays, we are back with our five recommended names for the upcoming Serie A and Kickest round
We’re back after almost a month with our weekly appointment featuring Kickest Tips. After the Christmas holidays and some time off, it’s now time to get serious again. It’s January, which means the winter transfer window: players leaving, new ones arriving. We’re ready to make our five transfers and try to fix both our lineup and our position in the standings!
I’m dusting off the Fixture Ticker (it’s been a while!) and let’s choose the five transfers to make for this 21st Serie A and Kickest matchday.
Out: Falcone (Lecce) – In: Corvi (Parma)
The first player we say goodbye to in this round of changes is Wladimiro Falcone. Lecce’s goalkeeper remains one of the most reliable in Serie A and Kickest in terms of consistency, but for this matchday we’re mainly focusing on Carnesecchi, who will face Pisa.
For this reason, we use this transfer to secure some capital gains, investing “only” 5.3 credits in Edoardo Corvi. Suzuki’s injury has opened the door for him to start in Serie A; he rested against Napoli but should return to the starting XI in the upcoming match against Genoa.
Out: Muharemovic (Sassuolo) – In: Norton-Cuffy (Genoa)
Sassuolo face a Napoli side hurt by their home draw against Parma, a result that pushed them six points away from first place. It could be a tough matchday for Muharemovic and Idzes, who will have to deal with a Højlund in great form, even if he hasn’t scored since his brace against Cremonese.
For this reason, we say goodbye to Tarik Muharemovic and welcome Brooke Norton-Cuffy back into the squad. He’ll need to contain Valeri, but at the same time he could find plenty of space on the counterattack, one of his main strengths.
Out: Touré (Pisa) – In: Elmas (Napoli)
With Neres out and Lang still a mystery, Eljif Elmas is finding playing time and consistency from the first minute at Napoli. Above all, he’s repaying the trust shown in him by Conte.
He starts as a left winger in the attacking trident of the 3-4-3, but often moves inside, combining mainly with the two midfielders and linking up with Højlund. It’s valuable work, perhaps in what is his ideal position.
Making room for him is Touré of Pisa, who will face Atalanta on Friday night.
Out: Zaniolo (Udinese) – In: Bernede (Verona)
A knee injury has stopped him at his best moment: Nicolò Zaniolo will be out for at least three or four matches. We therefore need to act quickly, but we choose to do so with a bit of a gamble, also because we’re already backing a big name in attack.
Antoine Bernede has become a key figure in Verona’s midfield. Ball recoveries, late runs, intensity — these are his main qualities. Our Fixture Ticker shows that Zanetti’s team will have a softer schedule over the next three matches, and if they want to stay up, a lot will depend on these fixtures.
Out: Castellanos (Inactive) – In: Lautaro (Inter)
The first forced transfer of this transfer window: Valentín Castellanos has left Serie A and Lazio to join West Ham, where he has already scored. To replace him, we go for a top attacking option, once again a return to our squad: Lautaro Martínez. He’s always under scrutiny for not making the difference in big matches — then we checked the Fixture Ticker: Udinese, Pisa, Cremonese, Sassuolo.
So, if it’s true that he “only scores against smaller teams”, the calendar suggests that the next four matchdays could very well be HIS matches.
