My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 12

Here’s how I’m setting up for Round 12 on Kickest, We return after the international break with the new five picks.

As we wait for the possible umpteenth global psychodrama starring our National Team in March, we can go back to thinking about the league and our climb up the Kickest rankings. We left off with two very positive rounds in a row, then the last one was a bit less successful, with only Semper (clean sheet) and Lautaro bringing us good news and excellent points. Now we start again.

I’m arming myself once more with the Fixture Ticker (I really missed you) and we’re going to pick the 5 changes to make for Round 12 of Serie A and Kickest!

Out: Carnesecchi (Atalanta), In: Ravaglia (Bologna)*

We start right away with a bold choice. We let go of Marco Carnesecchi, one of our loyal regulars, for a strategic move: we’re taking advantage of Skorupski’s absence, which opens the door for Ravaglia at Bologna. This allows us to pay very little for the Rossoblù goalkeeper (7.4 cr) compared to what we gain from selling Carnesecchi (13.6 cr).

There’s still a slight doubt about Ravaglia’s availability—he returned to training this week after an injury, but he should make it in the end.

Out: Dumfries (Inter), In: Ramon (Como)

Denzel Dumfries is at risk for the derby. The minor ankle issue he picked up on international duty might be more problematic than expected, potentially forcing him to miss Sunday night’s big match. To replace him, we’re not going too far—just a few kilometers—to reach Como and ask Jacobo Ramon to at least maintain the trend of his last three matches: 15.20 FPT against Verona, 19.30 against Napoli and 18.70 against Cagliari. Jaco, you still haven’t scored in the league yet, maybe this is the time…

Out: Ahanor (Atalanta), In: Palestra (Cagliari)

A switch between two talents of Italy’s future. Ahanor continues to confirm the very high level of his performances, despite Atalanta’s poor start under Juric, but against Napoli in Palladino’s debut as manager, we prefer to place our chips on something a bit more “manageable.” Marco Palestra will be one of ours—probably just for this round—since our Fixture Ticker is warning us about a fiery red trio of matches for Cagliari after the game against Genoa. We’ve always been admirers, to the point of listing him among our “Crushes,” and we’re taking advantage of this round to launch him as a starter in T1.

Out: Kostic (Juventus), In: Zaniolo (Udinese)

We were very undecided about who to choose to replace Kostic. We wanted someone playing in T1 and were tempted to call Atta back. Then, taken by a romantic impulse, we decided to go with Nicolò Zaniolo. A difficult start, then finally his impact in black and white: 3 goals in his last 5 matches, including one at the Stadium against Juve. Sure, the opponent is top-tier, but Bologna historically struggles in Udine, and Udinese will have two “easier” matches after facing Italiano’s boys. So the choice falls on the former Roma, Atalanta and Fiorentina player also for the next two rounds (at least).

Out: Vandeputte (Cremonese), In: Bernabé (Parma)

Atta wasn’t the big comeback of the week—Adrián Bernabé was. Since we let him go, he’s exploded: 2 goals in the last two matches and plenty of high-quality plays (though those were already there). Parma’s number 10 was and remains the gravitational center of Cuesta’s team. Let’s hope he continues on this path; maybe scoring for the third game in a row is tough, but we’ll settle for a good performance. After all, as the saying goes: good things come in threes!
