My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A – Round 10

Round 10 of Serie A is here after a hectic midweek round. With some solid performances last time out, we focus on fresh picks and bold gambles

It’s been a hectic week in Serie A: just two days after the midweek round ended, we’re already back in action for Round 10. The previous round wasn’t entirely negative, as some of our chosen players delivered solid performances. For this round, we’ll focus on complementary picks and gambles, since we don’t want to give up our top assets—and our limited budget forces us into some rather “creative” choices.

Time to arm myself once again with the Fixture Ticker, and let’s pick the five changes to make for Matchday 10 of Serie A and Kickest!

Out: Angori (Pisa) – In: Fortini (Fiorentina)

We say goodbye to the Pisa full-back, who—like the rest of his team—has struggled to make an impact in these first nine rounds. In his place, we’re going with a youngster. Niccolò Fortini from Fiorentina is a wide player who has shown great qualities amid the Viola’s chaotic start. The 2006-born full-back is part of the new generation of Italian defenders built in the Premier League mold—pace, strength, and long throw-ins. With Viti suspended against Lecce, Fortini could be an interesting T2 gamble.

Out: Pezzella (Cremonese) – In: Cambiaso (Juventus)

The Spalletti era at Juventus kicks off in Cremona. The Tuscan coach is preparing for his debut with the Bianconeri against Nicola’s Cremonese, who have collected 14 points so far—one of the surprise packages of the Serie A season. Even when coaching the national team, Spalletti expressed his admiration for Andrea Cambiaso, praising his interpretation of the modern full-back role—qualities that even caught Manchester City’s attention nearly a year ago. Cambiaso has looked like a shadow of himself in recent months, but we’re confident he’ll be one of the first players the coach from Certaldo will look to revive.

Out: Folorunsho (Cagliari) – In: Koné (Sassuolo)

Poor performance from Folorunsho in the midweek match against Sassuolo—just like the rest of Cagliari. To replace him, we’ll pick directly from the Neroverdi. Ismaël Koné immediately made an impact in Fabio Grosso’s midfield, despite a debut red card against Napoli. Since then, his performances have steadily improved, even finding the net in Matchday 5 against Udinese. Facing a struggling Genoa side, his forward runs could be dangerous—and he also offers us flexibility in the T3 slot.

Out: Carboni (Genoa) – In: Basic (Lazio)

Another disappointing showing from the Argentine talent, as well as from the whole Genoa team. Vieira’s job is on the line, with plenty of pressure and anxiety heading into the decisive clash against Sassuolo. Time for a change—so we’re bringing in Toma Bašić. The Lazio midfielder went from being left out of the Serie A squad list early in the season, to being reinstated (thanks to Dele Bashiru’s injury), and has since become a key player for Sarri’s midfield. He even scored against Juventus and came close again against Pisa. Our Fixture Ticker shows a tricky schedule ahead for Lazio in the next three, so this is very much a “one-and-done” type of pick.

Out: Yildiz (Juventus) – In: Hojlund (Napoli)

Last Minute Change: Yildiz won’t travel to Cremona and will miss Spalletti’s first match as Juventus manager due to a low-grade patellar tendinopathy in his left knee — the same issue he’s been managing since last season. Nothing serious, but enough to keep him out. We’re replacing him with Rasmus Højlund, who could thrive on the counter against Como’s high defensive line. With Napoli likely to control possession, there should be space for him to exploit — and when there’s space, Højlund can be lethal.
