Official Fantasy Premier League VS Kickest: a Comparison

A new star is born: Kickest has landed and is challenging the Official Fantasy Premier League. Which is the best? Differences and features comparison

Kickest VS Official Fantasy Premier League

The Premier League season is about to start, and many of you have already completed their teams in the Official Fantasy Premier League (Official FPL) website.

Still, most of you still don’t know that you can play another fantasy game based on the Premier League, which is called Kickest Fantasy Football and that is more advanced and strategic. To sum up, let’s say that Official FPL is for boys, Kickest is for men!

In this brief article we will show some differences between the two fantasy games, counting on the fact that you will give Kickest a chance.

Here the 4 main points of comparison:

  1. Scoring System
  2. Player Positions
  3. Player Values
  4. Substitutions

1. Scoring System Comparison

How many times players in your Official FPL teams scored low, even if they performed amazingly in the real matches?  This is the result of a very flat scoring system, which rewards a lot for goals and clean sheets, but that does not take much into account other very important stats.

Let’s imagine a player who played all match, did not score a goal, whose team conceded a goal and lost, but was the best of his team: which would be his fantasy points?

The range of stats (+20) is much wider, in order to capture the real essence of player performances

2. Player Positions

We bet that most of you remained stunned when you saw Aubameyang Salah, Mané, Rashford and Sterling, all listed as midfielders for this Official FPL season. But who in the world would describe them as midfielders?? They are not central forwards, but they are indeed forwards!

Here the Player Positions comparison with Kickest:

Non realistic player positions especially for midfielders and forwardsAccurate and precise player positions to keep the realism of the game

3. Player Values

When creating your teams on the Official FPL, you might have also noticed how many player values seem to be very flat and do not consider the real strength of players.

Here the Player Values comparison with Kickest:

Official FPLKickest
Flat player values without variation during the whole seasonComplex system that take into consideration the real market value and the performance during the season

4. Substitutions

When you line up your fantasy team on the Official FPL before the Gameweek deadline (usually on Friday), that’s it: the substitutions are automatically done, therefore you could just sign in again on Monday to check the results. There is no action needed during the Matchday.

Kickest is more fun and strategic in this sense. Here the comparison of the actions you can do during a Matchday:

Official FPLKickest
Nothing. Substitutions are automatically done by the game with no alternativesYou can change captain, formation and manually choose players from the bench to replace starters

This shows how Kickest gives an additional way to be engaged during the Matchday: if I lined up Aguero on the first match of the week and he scored low, was I smart enough to provide for a proper substitute (that plays on the following days)? Do I foresee that this bench player will have a higher score than Aguero?

Final Considerations

As we said: Official FPL is for boys, Kickest is for men! If you are searching for a challenging and very realistic fantasy game, try Kickest Fantasy Football.
