The Premier League season is about to start, and many of you have already completed their teams in the Official Fantasy Premier League (Official FPL) website.
Still, most of you still don’t know that you can play another fantasy game based on the Premier League, which is called Kickest Fantasy Football and that is more advanced and strategic. To sum up, let’s say that Official FPL is for boys, Kickest is for men!
In this brief article we will show some differences between the two fantasy games, counting on the fact that you will give Kickest a chance.
Here the 4 main points of comparison:
- Scoring System
- Player Positions
- Player Values
1. Scoring System Comparison
How many times players in your Official FPL teams scored low, even if they performed amazingly in the real matches? This is the result of a very flat scoring system, which rewards a lot for goals and clean sheets, but that does not take much into account other very important stats.
Let’s imagine a player who played all match, did not score a goal, whose team conceded a goal and lost, but was the best of his team: which would be his fantasy points?
2pts for playing more than 60mins, +1pt for being one of the best players in the match
The range of stats (+20) is much wider, in order to capture the real essence of player performances
Here’s the complete Scoring System comparison:
Kickest Scoring System

|Own goal / caused||-7|
|Accurate / missed pass||0,1/|
|Shot off target||0,5|
|Shot in target||2|
|Duel won / lost||0,5/|
|Error leads to goal||-7|
|Big chance missed||-2,5||-2,5||-2,5|

|For playing 60 minutes or more||2|
|For each goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender||6|
|For each goal scored by a midfielder||5|
|For each goal scored by a forward||4|
|For each goal assist||3|

|For a clean sheet by a midfielder||1|
|For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper||1|
|For each penalty save||5|

|For every 2 goals conceded (goalkeeper or defender)||-1|

|For each own goal||-2|
2. Player Positions
We bet that most of you remained stunned when you saw Aubameyang Salah, Mané, Rashford and Sterling, all listed as midfielders for this Official FPL season. But who in the world would describe them as midfielders?? They are not central forwards, but they are indeed forwards!
Here the Player Positions comparison with Kickest:
|Non realistic player positions especially for midfielders and forwards||Accurate and precise player positions to keep the realism of the game|
3. Player Values
When creating your teams on the Official FPL, you might have also noticed how many player values seem to be very flat and do not consider the real strength of players.
Here the Player Values comparison with Kickest:
|Flat player values without variation during the whole season||Complex system that take into consideration the real market value and the performance during the season|
When you line up your fantasy team on the Official FPL before the Gameweek deadline (usually on Friday), that’s it: the substitutions are automatically done, therefore you could just sign in again on Monday to check the results. There is no action needed during the Matchday.
Kickest is more fun and strategic in this sense. Here the comparison of the actions you can do during a Matchday:
|Nothing. Substitutions are automatically done by the game with no alternatives||You can change captain, formation and manually choose players from the bench to replace starters|
This shows how Kickest gives an additional way to be engaged during the Matchday: if I lined up Aguero on the first match of the week and he scored low, was I smart enough to provide for a proper substitute (that plays on the following days)? Do I foresee that this bench player will have a higher score than Aguero?
As we said: Official FPL is for boys, Kickest is for men! If you are searching for a challenging and very realistic fantasy game, try Kickest Fantasy Football.
