My Picks for Kickest Fantasy Serie A — Round 5
Here are the 5 transfers I’ve made for Round 5 on Kickest, hoping to turn things around and climb the ranks again.
We’re in crisis. We can’t seem to get out of this rough patch, but as we know, in football there are always moments when everything goes wrong. Better to face them now—after the storm, the sun always shines!
We can’t blame everything on luck; it’s not our style. We made some wrong choices and a few unlucky ones, it’s true, but now we’re trying to recover. We expected Bonny to start after Inter’s Champions League efforts, but he only came on for the last 10–15 minutes against Sassuolo. Miranda and Dumfries didn’t make much impact, while Elmas had a goal disallowed due to Hojlund being marginally offside.
Let’s arm ourselves with the Fixture Ticker and this time try not to make mistakes in our selections.
Valle Out (Como), Solet In (Udinese)
Como hosts Cremonese, but with our Fixture Ticker we know tougher matches await them. Our decision to drop one of our favorites, Alex Valle, also comes from the need to save resources for a bigger transfer this game week. We free up his 11.4 credits to bring in one of Kickest’s highest FPT-scoring defenders from last year since his arrival: Oumar Solet. Udinese visits Sassuolo and still has three fairly manageable games ahead, making this a potentially long-term pick.
Pavlovic Out (Milan), Angori In (Pisa)
Admin 1 might not be happy, but it’s clear that Admin 2 has a soft spot for Pisa. In the loss to Napoli, Samuele Angori came off the bench and was among the most dangerous: a near goal and an assist for Lorran to make it 3-2 and reopen the match. On the other hand, in the San Siro clash, Pavlovic might struggle against Politano and the physicality of Hojlund, McTominay, and Zambo Anguissa. This is more of a management move (giving us a nice gain) and we’ll use it as a tactical weapon if needed.
Da Cunha Out (Como), Sucic In (Inter)
Here we go for a big return: we recall Petar Sucic after his excellent debut in matchday 1 against Torino. The Croatian was a topic of internal debate among the Admins last week, and it was no surprise he scored 17.50 FPT when not selected. Now that he’s in our team, we’re curious to see how he performs… Although we have a hunch. Jokes aside, we know Inter will face Cremonese after Cagliari, with Champions League in between. Sucic is currently in competition with Mkhitaryan for Saturday, but he will definitely see playing time. We also say goodbye to another favorite, Da Cunha, who hasn’t had much impact this season.
Elmas Out (Napoli), Vlasic In (Torino)
Perhaps the only right choice last week, but a minor offside, a raised flag, and our dreams crumble. Eljif Elmas tried his best, and we thank him, but now it’s time to say goodbye: against Milan, Antonio Conte will rely on his starters. We pick a replacement from T3, from a team experiencing an emotional rollercoaster: Torino under Baroni, after five drubbings at San Siro, managed an unexpected win at Rome, only to fall again at home to Atalanta. Against Parma, still winless, it’s already a tough challenge, and we think set pieces could be key. Here comes Nikola Vlasic, captain, number 10, and taker of free kicks and corners for the Granata. Probably penalty taker as well after Duvan Zapata’s miss. Together with Bernabé, we keep two possible resources to play on Monday night.
Bonny Out (Inter), Berardi In (Sassuolo)
He was the first name called in the office last week, managing to unite Admin 1 and Admin 2 in a record 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes of discussion and flying plates. Ange-Yoan Bonny and his 15 minutes against Sassuolo remain an open wound in the office. It’s time to move on and find solace in a reliable figure who has never let us down: Mimmo Berardi. A fantasy football icon, a symbol of Italian football, Sassuolo’s number 10 returns to Serie A after a year in Serie B, already with 1 goal and 1 assist. Against Udinese, he will be the guiding light for his teammates and for us—we also make him our captain this week. We trust you, Saint Domenico.
My Round 4 Squad on Kickest
